Oh, and the image isn't done yet, this is technically a work in progress
After the somewhat lukewarm reception of my previous attempt at this character (which is a roleplaying character of mine called Adjanah, by the way), I felt like trying again. And frankly I am much, much, MUCH happier about this one. Started all over, refined her outfit a bit, changed the face to a more sultry, sexier one, added her faithful lizard companion Francis (named after Francis Drake, of course).
In the end it will have a full body and a more elaborate background, but for now it gets the message across.
On a sidenote, this is one of the first images where I've used both Photoshop and Painter. I find they work very well together...I'll definately use this approach from now on.
I am VERY interested in hearing what you have to say about it. Crits or praises, it all helps (especially crits).

I take it she's not a natural red? The eyebrows look strange, like they don't fit (besides being black). Other than that, it looks pretty awesome. Definitely better than I can do.
This is very nice. You've done what alot of other artists can't do(and still alot can) and gave her character. It's a very siplistic design, but with lots of great detail.
Great picture and shading. I like it alot. Personaly I am still getting used to not seeing everything inked and then colored but this is a great piece that isnt ... though something about her chest bugs me and I am not sure what it is... Oh well better than I can do with the shading by far.
the character is looking good. I have a few issues though, the boobs don't look right since you seem to have the light source in the upper right behind the character. The arm is too light compared to the blouse. Metal parts could be more shiney/reflective and I'd use even darker values on the dragon. I hope this is helpful

As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.
